About Us.

We are Carter Jewelers, a local jewelry store to Bolivar, Missouri.

We have had a location in Bolivar since 1987, when Almon Carter and son Gary Carter teamed up to combine Al's watchmaking and Gary's jewelry making and repair skills in to a business. With both of them working together, they were able to have a successful shop that served our community for 38 years. Gary Carter has been a pillar in this area for many reasons. He wasn't afraid to stand out and defy the pretentiousness that can come with high-end jewelry stores, he understood our working mans town and made sure that everyone felt welcome in this store. In 2025, Gary decided that it was time to retire and hand the torch to the next generation.

Devin Beesley, born here in the area, a native Missourian, has taken up ownership of Carter Jewelers and will continue to uphold the standards and the workmanship provided over the years. Devin has a strong background in jewelry repair, design, and gemology. He graduated from Missouri State with a degree in art, from Texas Institute of Jewelry Technology with a degree in applied science jewelry repair, and from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) with a degree as a Graduate Gemologist. 

Carter Jewelers has a jeweler on staff, and can create and repair jewelry in-house. We specialize in custom crafted pieces made for any occasion.
